PRESCHOOL SERVICES CENTER

The objective of the YMCA of Paterson Preschool Center is to promote vital educational and community programming that will enhance the mind, body, and spirit of the preschooler and their families.

The YMCA of Paterson operates a Preschool Center that collaborates with the NJ Department of Education to provide State of New Jersey mandated free preschool to the Paterson Community.

The main goal of the Preschool is to provide three and four-year-olds with developmentally appropriate

experiences that will enhance their ability to succeed in future educational institutions. The curriculum

utilized is aligned with the Core Curriculum Contest Standards developed by the State of New Jersey and

the Early Childhood Education Program Expectations, Standard of Quality.

The Preschool is located on the lower level of the YMCA of Paterson.  Easy access is provided for those who may have physical handicaps. The preschool is licensed to provide developmental services for 90 children during the academic school year (September – June) and 120 children during the summer months. The program maintains a staff to student ratio of  2:15.

Staff Members maintain professional credentials and a welcoming environment for all who enter. Our staff motto is: Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM).
