The YMCA of Paterson is the largest provider of permanent housing for chronically homeless men and women in Passaic County. We offer 195 SRO units (with shared bathrooms) for single adults that are chronically homeless.
To qualify as “chronically homeless,” individuals must live continuously for 12 months in a place not meant for human habitation (e.g., car, abandon building, streets), a safe haven, an emergency shelter; or one must be homeless on 4 or more separate occasions within the last 3 years, which combined equal a total of at least 12 months.
This community resource provides subsidized housing for these individuals. Our staff closely monitors building access to the premises, and we offer a number of supportive services to our residents: case management, individual and group counseling, and referrals to various other supportive services. The YMCA of Paterson is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all residents.
We have two programs; please read the admission criteria to know which best fits you.
